Responsive community development services can provide stimulus for local residents to identify and overcome challenges in their areas. SEEDS, working with local partners, both supports and directly delivers these services.
Research into needs of the poor
SEEDS professionals contribute to the regional knowledge base about the needs of the poor and the challenges they face. One current research project focuses on the fishing industry in West Sumatra.
Assisting the urban poor
Local organisations across South East Asia work with communities to provide a range of services for the poor. SEEDS members in Jakarta partnering with one such organisation, Yayasan Pendar Pagi, have established a community centre.
